- Your town, and whether you're inside Cheyenne city limits
- The fence type you're thinking about, or what it needs to do (privacy, dogs, horses, snow)
- Rough length and height
- Number and width of gates
- Whether an old fence needs to come out
- Any HOA or covenant rules
Pace it off. Walk the line you want fenced and count your steps; a normal step is roughly 2.5 feet. A rough length helps the contractor plan the visit and materials.
